"Not only TESLA!" Uniform flexible LED module Technology Patent



In 2016, the R&D team of EOI invested in the research and development of the first-generation Uniform flexible LED module uniform light-emitting surface light source module, and made patent proposals and applications. In 2018, we obtained invention patents in Taiwan, the United States and Europe in 2019.

In the past five years, EOI has also successively invested in a number of forward-looking technology research and filed related technology patent applications, including the first and second generation patents of Uniform flexible LED module Plus (high-brightness uniform surface light source) and Uniform flexible LED module Linear Series (linear light source).




At the same time, in recent years, during the evaluation process of introducing Uniform flexible LED module design concepts into new projects, the R&D team of EOI has learned many design skills of lamp modules in each project, and continued to optimize the light guide layer, and finally found that the new concept can improve optical efficiency and reduce module power. Therefore, the second-generation Uniform flexible LED module patent research and development was launched in 2021, mainly adding a new optical structure design to the patented light guide structure layer, so that the optical efficiency of the light entering the light guide layer can be improved. It has been confirmed by the design that it can improve the overall optics of the module efficiency by at least 20% or more.


The advantages of the second-generation Uniform flexible LED module surface light source module design are as follows:

●Improved light output efficiency: The patented optical structure on each surface of the light guide layer improves the light output efficiency of the light source, so that the surface light source module has better optical performance and can reduce power consumption at the same time.
●Excellent visual uniformity: On the basis of Uniform flexible LED module Gen 1, the light guide layer still has an optical microstructure, which improves the brightness uniformity and makes the visual effect better.
●High degree of freedom in design: It is beneficial for light source modules to match the appearance design of vehicle lamps; the module’s high light output efficiency can meet the requirements of vehicle lamp light distribution regulations, and is suitable for automotive lamps such as taillights, position lamps and indoor lamps.



Based on the research results in 2021, the internal R&D team of EOI proposed a design proposal in 2022, and through internal patent review, patent applications will be filed in the direction of derivative patents to ensure that EOI can obtain new products of the second generation of Uniform flexible LED module technical protection and exclusive development rights. In the future, this technology is expected to be introduced into the design of related surface light source modules, so as to improve module efficiency and save energy and power consumption.
