Pursuing excellent automotive-grade safety standards:ISO26262 system



ISO 26262 is the international standard for functional safety in the automotive industry. This standard applies to automotive electrical and electronic systems, including hardware components and software components. ISO 26262 defines the safety-related functions used in the development process and the requirements that processes, methods and tools need to meet. The ISO 26262 standard ensures that adequate levels of safety are achieved and maintained throughout the vehicle life cycle.


Using ISO 26262 to assess the safety of automotive electrical and electronic components provides automotive manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers with a number of benefits and objectives as follows:

1. Perform a rigorous assessment according to ISO26262 to ensure the overall safety of the vehicle and/or the corresponding system.
2. Maintain the competitive advantage of EOI in correctly understanding and implementing the requirements of the ISO 26262 standards.
