Driving Dual Transformation ∞ Joining Hands Toward Net Zero
EOI Taiwan Headquarters 2024 ESG Supplier Conference

Committed to sustainable carbon reduction, EOI has achieved remarkable recognition in 2024, receiving eight prestigious domestic and international awards. These include the top honor in the inaugural 104 Job Bank Employer Brand Awards for "Best Employer Brand," consecutive wins in the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) for "Corporate Governance Award," "Social Empowerment Award," and "Sustainability Reporting Award," as well as ranking sixth in the CommonWealth Sustainable Citizenship Awards (Small Giants Category). For three consecutive years, the company has won the Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards for "Corporate Excellence" and, for the second year, the "Outstanding Corporate Leader Award." It also received the TCSA Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award for "Innovation Growth Leadership," showcasing its exceptional achievements.

To build on these successes, EOI held our 2024 ESG Supplier Conference on November 28, themed "Driving Dual Transformation ∞ Joining Hands Toward Net Zero." The event drew nearly 100 enthusiastic suppliers. EOI’s president Fanny Huang delivered a keynote speech on "Sustainability in the Automotive Industry: Building a Net-Zero Carbon Supply Chain," while the ESG team presented actionable strategies for carbon reduction across dual supply chain axes.

The conference highlighted the company’s collaborative approach, leveraging group purchasing to drive cost-efficient energy-saving initiatives through the EOI Supply Chain Energy-Saving Carbon Alliance Platform. This platform focuses on carbon reduction, circular economy practices, and biodiversity enhancement. The event also featured a guest lecture by Epistar Corporation, a long-time partner, which shared its innovative methods and successes in energy-saving and carbon reduction efforts.

EOI’s president Fanny Huang stated: "The resilience and sustainable development of supply chains are crucial to the future competitiveness of enterprises. We look forward to collaborating with our partners to build a more efficient and environmentally friendly industrial ecosystem. According to the *World Economic Forum's 2024 Global Risks Report,* while various types of risks remain balanced over the next two years, biodiversity loss and natural resource shortages are projected to become the third and fourth greatest global risks over the next decade, with half of these risks being environment related."

During the conference, EOI’s president Fanny Huang introduced a series of carbon reduction frameworks, including TNFD, TCFD, ICP, SBTi, and CDP, explaining how companies can leverage these disclosure processes to deepen scenario analysis. To further explore these topics, a group discussion competition was held, where participating suppliers presented their companies' strategies for dual-axis transformation in AI-driven digital technology and ESG initiatives.

The competition sparked enthusiastic discussions, providing valuable insights for all attendees and fostering mutual learning among the supply chain partners.

At the 2024 EOI Headquarters Supplier Conference, we reached two key agreements: br> 1. Transparency in Reporting and Collaboration: Suppliers are requested to provide carbon emission data (to meet upstream requirements) and commit to regular reviews and tracking. br> 2. Carbon Reduction Performance Evaluation: Suppliers will be assessed on their carbon reduction performance, with top-performing suppliers selected for long-term partnerships. br> Through this conference, we fostered a stronger consensus on carbon reduction, paving the way to maintain a competitive edge and seize business opportunities in the increasingly stringent global automotive supply chain.
