EOI Wins Three Awards at the 2024 Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) for the Second Consecutive Year

The prestigious "Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards" (AREA), a benchmark for sustainability in Asia, held its grand awards ceremony on June 28 in Vietnam. EOI stood out among nominees from 19 countries and over 300 companies across Asia. EOI won three awards: the "Social Welfare Development Award," the "Corporate Governance Award," and the "Corporate Sustainability Report Award," marking its second consecutive year of recognition and a total of six awards. President Fanny Huang attended the ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City to receive the awards in person.

The "Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards" (AREA) is the highest-rated and most actively participated sustainability award in Asia. To date, it has attracted over 300 organizations from 19 areas all competing for this prestigious honor. After more than two months of rigorous processes, including document review, interviews, and evaluations by experts from various countries, EOI stood out in fierce competition.

President Fanny Huang stated, "Since our establishment, EOI has had a vision of contributing to society through innovative breakthroughs. We are committed to promoting environmental protection, actively participating in social welfare, and implementing corporate governance to the highest standards. Receiving three awards at the AREA this time is an honor shared by all our colleagues at EOI. We are grateful for the recognition from the judges and will continue to adhere to our vision and mission of 'continuous innovation to become a global leader in innovative light sources.' We will keep promoting environmental protection, social welfare, governance, and sustainable balanced development. We will also continue to actively promote cross-company public welfare initiatives and the construction of a renewable energy carbon platform in the Hsinchu Science Park, realizing the ideal of mutual benefit and shared prosperity."

The "Corporate Governance Award" aims to recognize the transparency, openness, integrity, management, and leadership levels of corporate governance, while also acknowledging the comprehensive and high-quality disclosure of governance practices. EOI adheres to high standards, focusing on global trends in corporate governance and sustainable development. In the latest 2023 "Taiwan Stock Exchange" corporate governance evaluation for listed companies with a market value between 5 and 10 billion, the company ranked in the Top 10.

Since our establishment, promoting social welfare has been deeply ingrained in the corporate culture of EOI. Through various initiatives such as "caring for underprivileged groups," "industry-government-academia cooperation," and "joint charity," the company creates a "cycle of good" for society. This time, EOI won the " Social Empowerment Award " for its "Share Love, Warm the Heart" initiative. In addition to monthly charity events, the company also conducts "dual charity actions" during major holidays, combining fundraising and donations. This maintains and extends long-term cooperation with social welfare organizations, with social care and charity efforts also expanding to the group's subsidiaries in Dongguan and Shenzhen.

EOI's "Corporate Sustainability Report" is themed "Building an ESG Value Supply Chain." Through supplier conferences at its Taiwan headquarters and factories in China, the company organized three ESG conferences across the Taiwan Strait, encouraging upstream and downstream supply chain companies to jointly commit to environmental protection and social responsibility, thereby enhancing the ESG capabilities of the entire industry chain. In 2023, EOI pioneered the "Cross-Enterprise ESG Forum" in the Taiwan Science Park, aiming to collaborate with neighboring friendly enterprises to practice ESG together, enhancing international competitiveness while creating a diverse and inclusive sustainable ecosystem within the park. This effort is dedicated to improving the global environment and the living space for future generations, achieving a future of mutual benefit and coexistence. Additionally, EOI was selected by the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs as a "Potential Enterprise." We established the "EOI Carbon Reduction System Platform," achieving carbon reduction results equivalent to the annual carbon absorption of over 4.5 Daan Forest Parks in Taipei City. EOI's numerous initiatives in the ESG field have been highly praised by judges from various Asian countries, leading to its distinction among hundreds of sustainability reports and the award of the "Corporate Sustainability Report Award."
