EOI unveils its breakthrough "Next-Generation LED Display" technology, targeting the lucrative global market valued at $8 billion USD.

After establishing a stable high market share in the North American automotive lighting market, EOI announced its foray into the display screen market with the unveiling of its groundbreaking "Next-Generation LED Display" technology at Taiwan headquarters on February 27.

According to Trend Force's global market research report, the global market value of small-pitch LED display screens in 2023 reached $4.5 billion USD, with an estimated annual compound growth rate of 12%, projected to expand to $7.6 billion USD by 2027. EOI, which has always pursued innovation and social contribution as its operational goals, sees immense potential in the global LED small-pitch display screen market. Over the past five years, the company has invested in the research and development of display screen innovation and breakthroughs in advanced processes. In 2024, it officially began accepting trial orders.

The "Next-Generation LED Display" introduced at this product launch event boasts a maximum viewing angle of up to 170 degrees. Its lightweight and thin structure, combined with a common cathode design that eliminates heat generation, and a surface treated with a special gel that is non-reflective and fully black, delivers impeccable top-tier image quality, with exquisite realism that offers an exceptionally comfortable viewing experience, making viewers feel as if they are immersed in the scene. Unlike other LED display screens on the market, EOI's new product stands out for its ability to withstand harsh climates and environments, being both wear-resistant and impact-resistant without any risk of detachment. Additionally, it can achieve up to 40% energy savings, with just one 4K screen reducing carbon emissions by 7,000 kg annually, equivalent to the carbon emissions from a Tesla driving 70,500 km.

Chairman Kuo-Hsin Huang stated, "EOI's strategy is to provide high-quality, low-cost products through innovative technology and advanced processes, winning with high cost-effectiveness and forward-looking technology." In comparison to traditional die bonding processes (P&P), EOI has introduced the Chip on Board (COB) process. Through the "MiniLED group transfer technology," it achieves high-efficiency mass mixing and rearrangement, resulting in an extremely wide color gamut and saving additional lamp mixing time. With non-tilting die bonding and a very flat emitting surface, it has acquired nearly 20 patents in multiple countries.

Chairman Kuo-Hsin Huang further stated, "EOI’s manufactures display panels to the quality standards of the automotive industry. Compared to the current market with 1-2 years warranty for panels, the 'Next-Generation LED Display' comes with a 10-year warranty and a diverse range of applications." The upcoming restaurant project, which integrates the recently unveiled AI model "Sora," is a prime example. It is poised to be the world's first AI 3D virtual reality restaurant, set to debut in Taiwan.

Moreover, applications extend to in-car and outdoor displays, trending virtual studios, indoor and outdoor large-scale TV walls, ultra-high-definition screens in cinemas, and home theaters providing immersive luxury experiences—all utilizing the "Next-Generation LED Display." Its patented features, resistant to various harsh climates and environments while being durable and shock-resistant, even replacing stone materials, make it suitable for both interior and exterior wall surfaces in buildings.
